Description

Two years before our founder, J.R. Church, passed away and went home to be with the Lord, he started writing a book about “Enoch.” As you know, Enoch was the 7th generation from Adam and wrote about the Tribulation Period, long before the Bible was written. A few chapters were missing from J.R.’s computer, but after much searching, they have been found!

The title of his book is: “Enoch: The First Book Ever Written” with commentary by J.R. Church. Read the “Foreword” in the front of the book from the words written by J.R. Church. Did Enoch write this book? Or was it the work of a scribe? According to some theologians, Enoch was the oldest book ever written. Dozens of fragments were discovered among the Dead Sea Scrolls. For the first 700 years following the death, burial and resurrection of our Savior, this mysterious book was revered and read by ministers to their church congregations. When the Dark Ages set in and Bibles were chained to the pulpits, many other books, including Enoch, simply disappeared. In those days, books were hand-written. Many commentaries were lost to history. Some feared that Enoch would never be recovered. Even though the church did not include the Book of Enoch among the collection of divinely inspired writings, early Christian scholars believed that Enoch wrote the book, and that it had been preserved aboard Noah’s ark. It was among the oldest writings of the human race – the first apocalyptic literature ever written. In fact, some have suggested that Enoch learned the ancient Hebrew alphabet – the first letters from which words and sentences are formed. This Book of Enoch was originally written in ancient Hebrew, fragments of which were discovered among the Dead Sea Scrolls. We should note that Hebrew was the language of God, who made the universe using those 22 letters. Seth and Enoch were not the inventors of the alphabet, but rather, the recipients of God’s language – a communication tool from heaven given to mankind. There were hundreds of Jewish writings preserved in the Jerusalem Temple’s library, which were not considered for inclusion among the biblical books, but that does not diminish their value. Enoch was one of those books. However, many of the early writings were lost during the Jewish wars against Roman rule. Afterward, there were very few groups concerned with copying, publishing and preserving Jewish literature. Eventually, many of the books, including Enoch, faded from the scene. For centuries, the Book of Enoch was lost – only to be rediscovered in eighteenth-century communities of Jews and Christians in Abyssinia, a region in Ethiopia. In 1773, the famous English traveler James Bruce obtained three copies of the book and brought them to Europe. As soon as these Ethiopian manuscripts arrived, translators began to produce copies in various European languages, including English. An ancient Greek manuscript also surfaced, corroborating the accuracy and authenticity of the Coptic language editions. This book, along with its commentary, will help you understand the antediluvian world prior to the great Flood. In it, you will find a description of the celestial vehicle in which Enoch traveled. And you will see a glimpse of God’s throne. Enoch sees a human being conversing with God and admits that he did not know him. Enoch, the seventh from Adam, knew every human on the planet – but not this man. He asked his guide, “Who is this man?” Enoch indicated that he did not recognize him. His angelic guide refused to reveal the name of this man, saying that he and his name must be kept a secret.

You will also see how Enoch described 7,000 years of world history and what would happen in each of ten divisions of 700 years each. According to Enoch, this mystery man near the throne of God will soon come and establish heaven’s kingdom. These are just a few treasures you can dig out of the pages of this book. There are seven scrolls that comprise the Book of Enoch – a total of 108 chapters. You will love the stories in this book as much as I did. Furthermore, my commentary will help explain every sentence and paragraph.

The Book of Enoch is a treasure, perhaps hidden away just for the last days. Many know of it, but few know what is contained within its ancient pages. Though the book was never placed within the canon of Scripture, it has long been held, by both Jews and Gentiles, to be an authentic and valuable work.

J.R. Church was always fascinated by this mysterious book, but frustrated that so little real research had been done on it. He wanted to compare the writings of Enoch to the Bible and see whether or not they matched up with Scripture. He searched in vain for a usable commentary, before finally reaching a point where he decided to write his own! The results of his curiosity and his advanced understanding of the Bible, science, archeology and history is summarized in this amazing book. Ascribed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah, the prophecies of this book reach all the way to the latter days and the Tribulation Period.

No doubt, the Book of Enoch is the stuff of legend, brought back from the days of old. J.R. Church had one of the most brilliant minds when it came to the study of prophecy and the end-times. J.R. went home to be with the Lord on March 22, 2011, after 3 long years struggling with cancer. God gave him a special gift of knowledge and now we want to share that gift with you once again. His books and teachings are all timeless and full of knowledge!
