North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un threatened to turn the United States mainland in to a “pile of ash” should Donald Trump attack the communist nation’s nuclear sites or shoot-down its missile tests, reports the Daily Mail.
According to the state-run news agency, the regime warned the United States that any future military escalation would “inevitably lead the US to self-destruction,” following joint American-South Korean military exercises in the region.
The threat comes after last week’s successful launch of a North Korean intercontinental ballistic missile that could potentially carry a nuclear warhead as far as Alaska. The test raised alarm bells throughout the Korean peninsula and the United States, prompting military officials to beef-up its defensive posture in the Pacific.
In response, the US military successfully shot down a projectile over Alaska using the THAAD missile defense system, sending a clear message to Kim Jong Un the US is preparing for a military conflict.

Speaking before the United Nations, US Ambassador Nikki Haley ripped the Korean regime for their continued missile tests, saying the United States and its allies were prepared to use their “full range” of military capabilities to disarm Kim Jong Un if diplomatic efforts failed.
