President Donald Trump arrived in Israel shortly after noon on Monday for a historic visit in the second leg of his whirlwind maiden foreign tour as president. Israel rolled out the red carpet for Trump at Ben-Gurion Airport, where the president touched down in Air Force One after two days in Saudi Arabia.

According to a senior official in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, the U.S. delegation rejected an Israeli request to have the prime minister accompany Trump on his visit to the Western Wall, claiming it was a “private visit.”
